CREATE A TARGET GROUP
In the distribution project click “+ Add new target group”.
SETTINGS:
- Target group name: Enter the name for the target group.
- Provider: Select from the available sources of panels.
- Country: Select a country to see available panels and feasibility.
- Survey language: Select a language. If the survey was scripted in Syno Survey, the language must be the same as the one which was used in the scripted survey for a particular country.
- Survey tool: Select the tool where your survey is scripted.
- Survey: If the survey tool is Syno Survey, select which survey you want to use.
- Survey live url: Enter the live link to the survey (if you are using Syno Survey, it is added automatically).
- Survey test url: Enter the test link to the survey (if you are using Syno Survey, it is added automatically).
- Survey name: For some providers a survey name is required.
- Categories: For some providers a survey category is required. Select one or several categories that describe the topic of the survey.
- Wanted completes: Enter the number of wanted completes in this target group.
- Days in field: Enter the number of wanted days allowed for fieldwork. Consider setting enough days in field, as the target group will be automatically stopped when the days in field expires.
- Incidence rate (IR): Estimate the share of respondents in the profiled group that will qualify for the survey. Lower IR means higher cost and lower feasibility.
- Length of interview (LOI): Estimate the median time in minutes it will take for respondents to complete the survey. The final cost will be adjusted according to real LOI.
- CPI mode:
- For the Syno provider you can use either auto CPI mode or fixed CPI mode. For the latter one, if the specified CPI is lower than the panel’s CPI based on the parameters, invitations won't be sent to that panel.
- For the Pure Spectrum provider you can enter custom CPI based on the recommendation.
Data collection:
- Project collect personally identifiable information: For Syno source it is important to mark if there is personally identifiable information (PII) asked in the survey, such as name, phone number or e-mail.
- Exceptions: Use "Bypass quarantine" if you need to invite the respondents no matter if they recently were invited to other surveys.
Redirect links: If the survey is scripted in an external survey tool, the redirection links should be copied into the external survey tool.
TARGETING:
- Demographics: Select gender and age limits according to your target group requirements.
- Panels: All panels are selected by default. If necessary, select particular panels (note that for the fixed CPI mode some panels can be excluded from the sample).
- Regions: Select region type and regions you need the respondents from.
- Panelist pool: Panelists can be included of excluded based on the status of previous surveys or according to their IDs.
- Profiling: If necessary, select the answers to the profiling questions according to your target group requirements (e.g., those that have a car, doing sports, etc.).
- Quotas: Census (national representative) or custom quotas can be selected, with a possibility to interlock them (usually gender X age).
LAUNCH A TARGET GROUP
At the bottom of the window there are stated the feasibility and the estimated costs.
- Wanted completes: The amount of wanted completes in this target group.
- Available: The amount of available panelists
- Feasible: The amount for expected completes.
- Estimated CPI: The cost per interview under the stated IR and LOI. It can be changed if the IR or LOI changes during the fieldwork.
- Estimated total: Wanted completes multiplied by Estipated CPI.
Test your survey first to check if the everything works correctly.
If the test is successful, launch your survey.
It is recommended to start with a soft launch, setting the target for 5-10% of total needed completes.
If the soft launch went smoothly, launch your survey fully.
